Scholarships and Financial Assistance
While we understand it’s not always possible, visiting UC in person is the best way to get a genuine feel for College life. There are several ways you can visit us.
Open Days
Each year we hold an Open House (in May) and an Open Day (in August to coincide with the UniMelb Open Day). All ten colleges are open on these days, so it is a great chance to visit multiple campuses if you are yet to choose which college to attend. Grab a tour around the college and see our rooms and facilities, have a chat with our current students, meet our staff and learn all about our inclusions, scholarship programs and application process. We’ll also have food, coffee and entertainment so you can hang around and truly take in the UC experience. Come along and get a taste of residential college life!Â
Our next Open Day will be held on Sunday, 18th August 2024. We hope to see you then.Â

Private Tours
You can visit UC and take a private tour at a time that suits you. Tours generally take place between 10am – 4pm Monday to Friday. Please contact us in advance to arrange a suitable tour time as we are not able to accommodate walk-ins. Weekend tours can occasionally be arranged dependent on student availability and notice given. On a private tour, a student or staff member will show you and your family our key residential college facilities, including both our new and heritage-style rooms where possible (please note, when students are in residence we may not have any free rooms to display).Â
We welcome you to contact the College via the form below to make a time for a personal tour. During the academic year you will have an opportunity to meet some students and get a feel for the friendly, relaxed, and supportive community that is UC. Please note that if you visit during the mid-semester school holidays (end of June/July) or the end of year summer holidays (end of November till mid-February) there will be no students at College.

Provisional offers
At UC we are able to make provisional offers to students. This means we offer places in rounds during the year, rather than waiting until university offers are released in December/January.Â
A few things to note about our provisional offers:Â
- They aren't guaranteed. You still need to go through the application and interview process. Then if we feel you were a good fit for UC, we will make you a provisional offer in the next consideration round. If for whatever reason you are not made an offer, you can wait till the next round, or we can pass you on to your next college preferenceÂ
- We are able to make provisional offers as we don't have a minimum ATAR requirement to attend UC. We also accept students attending multiple universities, which is why we can make offers even if your university studies aren't confirmed. You do however need to be accepted into full time study in Melbourne and be undertaking a Bachelors Degree or Associate Degree (we can no longer accept any future students studying diplomas or other qualifications due to academic program restrictions)Â
- It doesn't cost you anything extra to secure a provisional offer, we just ask you to let us know if the offer is no longer required so we are not holding a space unnecessarilyÂ
- We can only offer so many provisional offers for any one school, so it's best to apply earlyÂ
- Provisional offers have an expiry date of the 13th of January (in the year of your intake)
- There is also an opportunity to defer your residential college place if required (just as you can a university place)
- Please note we cannot make provisional offers in semester 2, as we cannot guarantee how many places will become availableÂ
The application process
- You can begin your application and save it and complete it at a later date if required
- The application should be accompanied by a passport-style photo
- We will email you during business hours to acknowledge receipt of your application and send you a link to complete additional paperwork and pay the $75 application fee

Application requirements
- You will then need to login to our student portal and complete some additional paperwork prior to your interview with the College
- The College will contact both of your nominated referees and request them to complete a referee report. Completed reports will be returned directly to the College. Please ensure that you include referee email details on your form
